Some would say that the only thing wrong with the Fun Run idea is that it should have been started years ago. Of course this give us the perfect opportunity to later say, "I was there for the first one".

The Rocky Point Fun Run promises to have it all...a Poker Run, El Golfo Ride, Parade, Contests, Specials....and of course lots of loud music, hot bikes and hotter women...or was that hot women and hotter bikes? Either way, plan to come down on May 5-9 for the 1st Rocky Point Fun Run. We'll be waiting for you! Watch this space for updates on planned events...

Our goals are simple...to have fun and see our biker friends, and in the process do something very important by helping two worthy local charities.

Adopt-A-Classroom of Puerto Peñasco and the Youth Sports Foundation of Puerto Peñasco, two groups dedicated to helping the kids of Puerto Penasco will benefit from every dollar spent at participating Rocky Point businesses on food, drinks, lodging and even insurance during the Fun Run. We've got a great time planned for you, and there will be special prices and great events throughout, so please come down to hang out with us from May 5-9, 2010. It will be a blast!

Every child deserves a quality education. With that premise in mind, Barbara Olszewski founded Adopt-A-Classroom in 2003. Escuela Alvira Fabiola Cecaña. was the first school adopted, followed by .Escuela Primera Club Rotario. and more recently, La Montaña Center of Attention for Special Needs Children.. Our desire is to provide the tools necessary for poor children in Puerto Penasco to succeed academically.

In the seven years since, Adopt-A-Classroom has helped provide everything from basic school supplies (spiral notebooks, art supplies, pens, pencils and school uniforms) to computers, printer\copiers, copy paper, library books, white boards and chalkboards. Adopt-A-Classroom of Puerto Peñasco also supplies the equipment necessary for schools to run efficiently, such as office supplies, file cabinets, water coolers and funds for maintenance and plumbing repairs.

Youth Sports Foundation of Puerto Penasco

Considering the phenomenal growth spurt Puerto Peñasco experienced in recent years, it was unavoidable that healthy youth activities would be needed to help keep kids from falling prey to negative elements.

In 2007, Rick Busa began coordinating donations of clothing and bicycles.

Since that time, Rick has grown The Youth Sports Foundation of Puerto Peñasco into a far-reaching program that now includes donations of baseballs, helmets, and catching gear, (much of this equipment through the generosity of the Oakland A’s and Milwaukee Brewers).

In addition, The Youth Sports Foundation has brought major league ball players to Penasco to hold sports camps and been integral in providing exhibition games for the benefit of local children between the ages of 6-18, inspiring them to hone not only their athletic skills, but sportsmanship and other positive traits that help build happy, healthy and successful lives.
